Giant pandas' reproductive rate is about 1 cub every 2 years, and they give birth to four to six cubs at most in their life.
Firstly, giant pandas reach sexual maturity when they are 5.5 to 6.5 years old, and they mate in spring between March and May. Gestation takes from 90-160 days, and they normally give birth to single young.
A new born cub weighs 90-130g and they are blind, white, and helpless.
The mother takes care of their young by feeding them and protecting them. The mother panda must forage for a long time to produce the milk the cubs need.
The new born panda doesn't move from the den in the first 2 months, but after 3 months, they will start to crawl. They will also start eating bamboos when they are around 6 months, and be fully weaned at 9 months. They weighs about 45kg after a year.
Most of the cub leave their mother when she become pregnant again, usually about 18 months.
